002 Do we have the data on the number of abortions in the world?

The data on this subject is actually more plentiful than twenty years ago, but it must always be gathered with care. This concerns, first of all, the difficulties for those who collect it. Moreover, according to the thesis to be proved, data can be inflated or diminished, and is unverifiable up to a certain point.

According to the data of the World Health Organization (1990), there are at present between 40 and 60 million abortions commited each year worldwide. Even if these numbers are subject to question, it must make us reflect. Forty million, for instance, is the approximate number of those who died in the Second World War. Forty million abortions each year is a massacre without precedent in history. It is at once a demographic and moral disaster.
